Fireboy and Watergirl are two unseparable friends who have a thing for ending up in deadly situations. This time they are stuck in the Forest Temple and it is up to you to guide them to the end of each dangerous level.

The objective of each level is the same: make it to the exit alive. But getting there involves navigating a treacherous terrain designed to hurt you. The method of dying is always the same: falling in pools of water (for Fireboy), fire (for Watergirl) or green pools of poison for both characters.

But then it gets more complex. The path toward the end sometimes requires you to activate levers, switches, and buttons in the right order. If you do them in the wrong order, you will have to start over.

In some areas, you will have to place each character on chain-linked platforms, jumping up and down to push the other character toward the exit. Solving this game will require both creative thinking and dexterity to avoid falling to your doom. And doom always lurks right below the trickest parts of a level.

After each level you are awarded a rank. Do it faster and you will get an A rank.
